Runners have the chance to take part in one of the world's most famous marathons, with a spectacular finish at the foot of the Wonder of the Western World.
4 km north of Cancale, at the end of the Pointe du Grouin, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the Herpin lighthouse and the Bay of Mont Saint Michelwith the corsair town of Granville and the Chausey islands in the distance. On the way back, take the road to Dol de Bretagne, a town with typical Brittany architecture. Dol was once by the sea, but erosion decided otherwise.
Visit the Normandy Gothic cathedral, and its beautiful old houses, including the 12th-century Maison des Palets. A stroll along the moat is also a pleasant way to discover the town. Nearby, you can visit the Château de Landal, a fortress with 15th-century towers and ramparts set in a beautiful site of woods and ponds.
Pass by the 65-metre-high Mont Dol, a geological landmark comparable to the Tombelaine rock and Mont Saint Michel. This high spot, possibly Druidic, was the refuge of many saints and hermits. Caves, chapels and sacred fountains still bear witness to this.
From the Mont Dol, you can enjoy a panoramic view over the Bay of Mont Saint Michel. On your return to the Mont Saint Michel area, take advantage of your evening to dine at Auberge La Mère Poulard . First up, the world-famous wood-fired omelette recipe from the famous Auberge de la Mère Poulard. As soon as you enter, you'll be able to admire the making of the famous omelette in copper pans, over a large wood fire.
An unforgettable moment for your stay at Mont Saint Michel.
